Insuring your California Investment Property

California offers diverse real estate investment opportunities, especially in high-tourism and coastal areas. However, California is generally considered one of the least landlord-friendly states due to strict rent control laws, extensive tenant protections, and complex eviction processes. Investors should also be mindful of the elevated risk of wildfires, which can significantly impact property insurance availability and pricing.

FAQ: Is Renters Insurance required in California?
No, California does not require tenants to carry renters insurance by law. However, landlords may require it as a condition of the lease.
